This book reminded me a little of The Invisible Life of Addie LeRue by V. E. Schwab. The main characters in both are lonely and isolated because of their unnatural longevity. While Addie LeRue is a tale of self-discovery and acceptance, How to Stop Time is a love story. There are lots of interesting encounters with historical people and events and the overarching story is interesting. If you love beautiful, flowery prose and tender, insightful books about people and relationships, you should definitely give this a read.
